NSGC members spent a cold, sunny morning at the Camellia House, part of Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park in Upper Brookville in the town of Oyster Bay. Most of the original plants from 1917 were selected varieties of Camellia japonica but there were six Camellia reticulata, never before grown in the United States. Today the collection consists of more than 300 plants, one of the largest indoor camellia collections in the country.
